Orcon told to pay $25,000 to soldier

A young soldier’s been awarded $25,000 after Orcon referred him to a debt collection agency, making it impossible for him to find a house for his family.

A soldier who struggled to find a house for his young family after Orcon wrongly referred him to debt collectors has won a $25,000 pay-out.

The telecommunications company claimed Brett Taylor owed $208 for his phone and internet package, and gave debt collection agency Baycorp his personal information so it could collect the cash.
